Well I try to work on the things,

So I work on something that actually has to do with all these things.

While studying Architecture in Glasgow, DJ / producer TUBBY TOOBA created DPERCUSSION RECORDINGS as an outlet for his solo and collaborative music. Using an AKAI MPC SAMPLER as the primary instrument, his compositions are a mixture of heavy jazz breaks, occasional turntable accompaniment and manipulated soulful samples from dusty vinyl records, gained from endless crate digging. Influences include Madlib, DJ Shadow, Nujabes, DJ Krush, Dday One, Jazzanova, Jaga Jazzist, Alex Tronic, The Cinematic Orchestra, St. Germain, Skalpel, LTJ Bukem, DJ Mitsu, Roni Size, Funki Porcini, 4hero, Peshay, Parov Stelar, Quantic, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Koop, Nils Petter Molvær, Amon Tobin, Nuspirit Helsinki, Uyama Hiroto, Bugge Wesseltoft, Ninja Tune, Compost Records, Brainfeeder, CTI Records, Blue Note, ECM Records, Mo' Wax and Brownswood Recordings.
